If We Come To You

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Huawei Mate 20 Lite Known Issues

The phone goes unresponsive and won’t even admit it’s charging

So the one that comes up most on the Mate 20 Lite is the phone that was fine yesterday and does nothing at all today. You plug it in and there’s no charging light. Nothing on the screen either — it doesn’t even say charging. That last part is the bit I’d pay attention to. A genuinely flat battery still tells you something after a few minutes on a known-good charger. A Mate 20 Lite that stays completely silent isn’t flat. One owner with exactly this ended up sending the phone away and got it back about a fortnight later with parts replaced inside it, not with a reset.

Safe mode and cache wipe won’t open on one of these

So the standard route is get into recovery, clear the cache, try a safe boot, see what you learn. Owners hitting the fault above report they can’t get into any of it. No safe boot. No cache clear. And that’s useful, it’s not just annoying — if the phone won’t open its own recovery menu, whatever’s wrong isn’t sitting in the software you were trying to reset. The next check worth doing before anything comes apart is connecting it to HiSuite on a PC and seeing whether the computer sees the phone at all.

No mobile signal and no Wi-Fi, both at once

So this one came from an owner who’d recently bought a used Mate 20 Lite: no Wi-Fi connection to any network, and a SIM in the tray showing no signal either. Both radios out together. I’m not going to guess at a cause from a description — I’d want the phone in front of me. But two radios down at the same time is a hardware question, and it’s worth knowing that before you spend an evening on router settings.

The memory card stops being read

So the Mate 20 Lite takes a microSD card, and there’s a long-running complaint from owners that the phone simply stops seeing it. Same card, worked last week, now nothing. Owners describe it showing up around a big system update. Try a known-good card in the phone, and the original card in something else, before assuming the card died.
