We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Samsung S23+ Plus 5G Known Issues

So, an S23+ comes in and the owner is certain the main camera has failed. The complaint is always the same one: a soft, smeared band sitting in close-up shots that no amount of cleaning shifts. It is not dust and it is not a cracked lens. That 50MP main lens has a wide aperture, and a wide aperture at close range gives you a very shallow plane of focus, so the edges of the frame drop away while the centre stays sharp. The Ultra uses different camera hardware and does not do this. Samsung reduced the effect in an August 2023 update. Two things help in the meantime: step back if your subject is inside about 30cm, and shoot vertically rather than horizontally.

Samsung S23+ Plus 5G Specifications

The Samsung S23+ 5G (UK model SM-S916B) has a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen at 120Hz and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage, and no memory card slot.

It shares the smaller S23’s camera set: a 50MP main and a 10MP 3x telephoto, both with optical stabilisation, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP selfie camera. Where it differs is the battery and charging: 4700mAh with 45W wired charging, against the S23’s 3900mAh and 25W, plus 15W wireless. It’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back on an aluminium frame, rated IP68, with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the screen.
