If We Come To You

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Known Issues

Random restarts and a black screen that won’t wake

Some owners say their Pixel 10 Pro XL restarts on its own, and sometimes ends up on a black screen that won’t respond. The only way back is a forced restart: hold Power and Volume Up together. One owner noted it can keep restarting even during setup after a factory reset. That detail matters. If a full wipe doesn’t cure it, software is mostly ruled out, and owners in that thread suspect the main board. Plenty of other owners report one freeze in months, or none, so this isn’t every unit.

Scrolling that starts late

Owners coming from older Pixels report a small lag when they swipe. The touch registers fine, but the finger travels a millimetre or two before the page moves. Then the page jumps to catch up. Short sideways swipes between open apps can spring back instead of switching. One owner blamed their screen protector. Another used the phone with and without one for a month and saw no difference. But a lag isn’t the same as a dead spot. One owner described the bottom-right corner sometimes not taking a touch at all. A patch that consistently ignores you is worth getting the display looked at.

Flicker at low brightness is a design choice

By default the screen dims using PWM (switching the panel on and off very fast) at 240Hz. Most people never notice. Some people with sensitive eyes do, as eye strain or faint flicker at low brightness, and it’s easy to assume the panel is failing. It isn’t. A setting called “Adjust brightness for sensitive eyes” doubles it to 480Hz. Reviewers point out that’s still lower than some rival Android phones, so it may help rather than cure it.

Stutter in heavy games is the chip

For day-to-day use, owners and reviewers mostly describe the phone as smooth. Heavy games are another matter. One reviewer saw Wuthering Waves judder once the graphics settings went up, and Genshin Impact’s frame rate dip at maximum settings. One owner reckons gaming feels about level with a 2019 Galaxy Note10+. If yours stutters in demanding games but behaves everywhere else, that’s the Tensor G5. Nothing’s broken.

Camera quirks that aren’t damage

Two camera behaviours catch owners out. Bright lights at night can cause strong lens flare. One long-term reviewer called it “pretty rough” for night video. And one owner found the camera switching lenses unprompted inside some third-party apps, which made a magnifier app they use for close-up work nearly unusable. Neither is a sign of a cracked lens cover. Separately, the inside corners of the camera bar collect pocket fluff, so give them a clean now and then.
