No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Too Busy to Come to Us?

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

iPhone 15 Pro Known Issues

Running hot under heavy use

Heat comes up again and again as a question about the 15 Pro, and the evidence is mixed. One owner who records a lot of video returned his after two weeks. It got hot while charging, during long stretches of 4K 60 or ProRes recording, and during long gaming sessions, and he wasn’t willing to wait on a software fix. Another owner, who has used his every day since it came out, says he’s never felt it get too hot. He’s upfront that he barely games or edits video on it. So the pattern points at sustained heavy load, not everyday use.

No touch and no charging

This one only started turning up once iPhones moved to USB-C. A board repair technician had a 15 Pro that powered on but ignored every touch and wouldn’t charge. His meter showed it noticed the cable, but it never drew a proper charge. He traced it to the USB-C charging controller, and he warns that cheap, low-quality chargers may be what damages it. No charging means the phone eventually won’t turn on, and no touch makes getting data off it hard. He also mentions one reported case where a full restore cleared it, so software may play a part.

Repair note: his fix swaps two chips, the USB-C controller and a small memory chip that works with it, both taken from a working board of the same model. A 15 Pro Max donor won’t do for a 15 Pro. A flex cable on the lower board must stay connected or the phone restarts every three minutes, so both halves of the board have to go back together before data can be recovered.
