Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Battery life that fades

Battery comes up more than anything else in these sources. The same everyday owner got about seven hours of screen-on time when the phone was new. A few months later, with more apps running in the background, that was down to four or five hours. A second reviewer, nine months in, calls the S22 Ultra an average performer on battery next to other flagships of its time, and says a later software update didn’t improve it. A third channel, rounding up problems raised by its viewers, put battery life first on the list. None of them measured battery health, so how much of this is wear and how much is software isn’t clear.

Heat and stutter on UK models

This one matters here specifically. According to a reviewer who carried the phone for nine months, UK and European S22 Ultras use Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 chip. He describes that chip as prone to heat and blames it for occasional hiccups and animations that jump frames, even after months of software fixes. His take: fine if you don’t game, less so if you do. That’s one person’s verdict on one phone. Still, it’s the version sold in Britain, so it’s the one you’re most likely to be holding.
