No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Samsung S23 Ultra 5G Known Issues

Green or pink vertical lines down the display

So, this is the big one on the S23 Ultra, and it hits the standard S23 too: a line, or a band of them, appears down the screen in green or pink and never goes away again. The common thread in the reports is heat. Most owners saw it turn up immediately after a software update installed, with the phone running hot while it did. A restart won’t shift it and neither will a factory reset, because nothing has gone wrong with the software. The panel itself is damaged. Samsung owned this one and ran a free screen-replacement programme for affected handsets, but that ended in December 2025, so it’s now an ordinary display replacement.

Phantom touches the screen registers on its own

Owners on Samsung’s own community forums report the S23 Ultra responding to taps nobody made: apps opening by themselves, text typing itself, things closing mid-use. Several people described it being worst up near the camera cutout. I’ll be straight about the evidence here. These are separate threads rather than one consolidated story, so the pattern is real but nobody has pinned the cause down. Some owners traced theirs to a screen protector and got it to stop by peeling it off, which is the cheapest thing to try first. Samsung support has pointed people at wiping the cache partition, booting into Safe Mode to rule out a third-party app, and switching off Touch sensitivity and battery saving. Those quieten it down for some people. None of them is a fix.

Samsung S23 Ultra 5G Specifications

The Samsung S23 Ultra 5G (UK model SM-S918B) has a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen at 1440 x 3088 and 120Hz, running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. There’s no memory card slot.

It has four rear cameras: a 200MP main, a 10MP 3x telephoto, a 10MP 10x periscope telephoto (all three with optical stabilisation) and a 12MP ultra-wide, plus a 12MP selfie camera. The battery is 5000mAh, with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. It’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back on an aluminium frame, rated IP68, with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the screen and a built-in S Pen stylus.
