No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Samsung S25 Ultra 5G Known Issues

The S Pen lost its Bluetooth

Right off the bat, the S25 Ultra’s S Pen looks just like last year’s. It isn’t. Samsung pulled the Bluetooth hardware out of it, and the little internal battery went with it. The empty slot where that battery used to sit is still in there, which is kind of wild. The pen still writes and draws fine, because the copper coil in the tip is what the digitiser senses. Air gestures are gone, though. It can’t fire the camera shutter remotely and it can’t click through slides. So if yours won’t act as a remote, nothing’s broken. That’s the design. Separately, one tester’s phone kept insisting the S Pen wasn’t inserted while it very clearly was. That’s one unit, not a pattern.

Gorilla Armor 2 scratches sooner

Samsung’s glass upgrade went backwards on scratches. The S24 Ultra’s Gorilla Armor didn’t take real damage until a level seven on the Mohs scale. The S25 Ultra’s Gorilla Armor 2 scratches at a level six with deeper grooves at a level seven. That’s pretty typical for phone glass, but it’s still a step back. In a separate case, an owner coming from an S22 Ultra reported the screen constantly collecting dust, dried spots and smudges, and said it stopped once a screen protector went on. It’s one report, so it doesn’t prove a coating fault. For them, though, a protector solved it.

The camera rings are glued-on trim

Those chunky metal rings around the cameras are purely cosmetic. They aren’t part of the lenses. They’re glued in place, sit slightly raised, and collect dust around the edges. A durability tester got two off without breaking anything. The third started lifting the back glass, so leave them alone. While we’re on trim: the titanium covers the frame only. The power and volume buttons are aluminium, and they scratch like it.

Samsung S25 Ultra 5G Specifications

The Samsung S25 Ultra has a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen (1440 x 3120) running at up to 120Hz, under Corning Gorilla Armor 2. UK phones (SM-S938B) run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12GB of RAM (16GB on one 1TB model) and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage, and there’s no microSD card slot.

The main camera is 200MP, alongside telephoto and ultra-wide cameras, and the selfie camera is 12MP. The battery is 5000mAh, with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. It has a titanium frame with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, it’s rated IP68, the fingerprint reader is ultrasonic and under the screen, and the S Pen stylus is built in.
