No Fix No Fee?
We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Xiaomi Mi 11 5G Known Issues
Gets hot, then quietly slows to a crawl
The Mi 11 was one of the first phones out of the gate running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, and that chip picked up a reputation for heat in just about every device it landed in. On the Mi 11 it shows up as a phone that goes warm in the hand during a long camera session, a game, or a big download — and then drops its own performance to protect itself. Frames stutter. The battery empties faster than it should. Nothing is broken at that point. That’s thermal throttling doing exactly what it was designed to do.
Where it stops being normal is when the heat has actually cooked something. Shops that deal with 888 boards work at processor level for this: the board comes out, goes onto an ESD-safe heating platform, and the chip is lifted, cleaned up and reworked. That’s microsoldering, not a parts swap — so a cheap plug-in quote on a genuinely heat-damaged Mi 11 board is somebody guessing. Before it ever gets that far, the sane first move is ruling out a rogue app or a bad system update pinning the processor at full tilt.
Black screen, no sign of life
Press the power button and get nothing back — no logo, no buzz, no charging light. On the Mi 11 that’s more often a system hang than a dead phone. Android has locked up behind a screen that never came back on, and the handset is sat there burning battery with nothing to show for it. Holding the power button down for far longer than feels reasonable forces a restart, and a good number of them simply wake up at that point.
If it stays dark, the order you check things in matters. Give it a solid quarter of an hour on a charger and lead you’ve already proved work elsewhere, then feel for warmth and listen for any vibration. A phone that’s been dropped, got wet, or was running hot before it went dark isn’t a software problem and belongs on a bench — charging port, a battery that won’t take a charge, or board-level damage. What nobody should be doing is paying for a screen before anyone has proved the screen is the thing that failed.
