No Fix No Fee?
We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

OnePlus 3T Known Issues
Signal that will not hold, and does not come back with a flash
Here we have a OnePlus 3T that came in for repair with cellular signal that will not hold — calls breaking up, bars that never settle. First question: is it the phone or is it the coverage? Put the SIM in another handset and find out. Where the fault follows the phone, the next test is a clean ROM, and this one had already been flashed with no change. We do not keep blaming software after that. What is left is the antenna path and the radio section of the board — connectors and flexes first, then the RF ICs.
Heat and battery drain that survive a clean firmware load
A 3T that runs hot and empties its battery fast, on stock firmware as well as on every custom build tried, is not a rogue app. Rule software out properly before you open anything — battery stats will name whatever is holding the phone awake. When stock behaves identically, the cell is the suspect, and on a handset this old the original battery has years of charge cycles behind it. A tired cell drains fast and warms up doing it. Battery first, and if a known-good cell changes nothing, the charging circuit on the board is next.
Powers on, runs for seconds, then stops
This one boots and then shuts down five to twenty seconds into use. It is not a bootloop — it does not restart itself, it simply stops. Fastboot is still reachable, so the board is alive and whatever is failing only fails under load. Intermittent is the word that matters: one sat unused for months, then charged, booted and ran for hours before dropping out again. A fault that comes and goes is usually a joint or a contact rather than a dead chip. And with the bootloader locked there is no route to the data first, so we do not promise one.
Hangs, glitches and a camera that stops opening after an update
Interface hangs, display glitches and a camera that refuses to open, all starting after a system update and all worse the longer the phone stays on. This is the one on this list where we do not reach for the soldering iron. What clears it is a full backup to a computer followed by a wipe and a clean reinstall of the firmware — which tells you the fault lives in the installed system, not on the board. I have to be 100% upfront about that, because it is not a repair we can charge a part for.
