No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Google Pixel 7 Known Issues

Display shows a faint rainbow or green tint at an angle

Tilt a Pixel 7 to a shallow angle against a plain white screen and on some units a faint rainbow or greenish cast creeps in at the edges — dead-on, it vanishes completely. That’s not damage. Owners comparing units side-by-side found some screens show it and others don’t, same model, same firmware — panel-supplier variance, not a fault that develops over time. Pretty normal for a mixed-supplier production run. If it genuinely bothers you daily, a full screen replacement is the only real fix; there’s no software patch for a colour shift baked into the glass.

“Tap to check phone” gesture stops responding

A handful of Pixel 7 owners report the phone’s tap-to-check gesture simply stops responding — no crash, no error, it just quits registering the tap. Resetting and reflashing firmware doesn’t always fix it right off the bat, though some owners get it working again by downgrading to an earlier Android build and updating back up — which points to a software regression, not a dead sensor. No hardware damage reported in any case reviewed. Worth ruling out a full reset before booking it in as a repair; this one looks like it lives in software, not solder.
