If We Come To You

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Samsung A51 Known Issues

Screen Goes Blank While the Phone Is Still Running

Here we have a common one on the A51: the phone is clearly alive — you can feel it vibrate, hear a notification — but the screen shows nothing at all. Repair footage on this model traces it back to the display flex connector working loose or corroding where it seats to the mainboard, not a dead panel. We test with a known-good donor screen before condemning anything; nine times out of ten it is the connector, not the glass.

Fingerprint Sensor Stops Working After a Screen Swap

Fit a new screen and the fingerprint sensor quietly stops working — not a wiring fault, a design one. Samsung serialises the screen assembly to the fingerprint hardware, so the software disables the sensor the moment it sees a screen it does not recognise as original. Independent teardown testing confirms it: swap the internals back into the old screen and the sensor reactivates instantly. We are 100% upfront with customers about this before any screen job, because recovering it needs manufacturer-level calibration, not anything achievable on the bench.

Random Reboots and Boot Loops

A number of A51 owners report the phone dying mid-use and dropping into a boot loop — logo, black, logo, repeat — with no drop or liquid contact to explain it. Forum reports point to a firmware-level fault in the Exynos 9611 chipset this model runs (the 5G A51 uses a different chipset entirely, so this is specific to the 4G version we are talking about here). A factory reset sometimes clears it; when it does not, it is a firmware reflash, not a swapped part.

Touchscreen Ignores Drags or Stops Responding

Touch input that works fine, then suddenly only registers where a drag starts rather than tracking the finger, is a genuine complaint on this model — not user error. Owners narrowing it down themselves have landed on the same suspicion we would: a digitizer connector that has corroded or worked loose, not the touch layer itself. We do not jump straight to a full screen replacement on a hunch, either — a cheap, uncalibrated aftermarket digitizer will often reproduce the exact same fault.

Auto-Brightness Dims Instead of Brightening

Multiple A51 owners independently report the same auto-brightness fault: step into a bright room and instead of the screen brightening, it dims down until the colours look washed out and flat. It is not a failing panel or a dying light sensor — it is a calibration bug in how the phone reads its own sensor data. Some owners find wiping the cache partition clears it, others do not; when it will not shift, that points to a firmware-level fix, not a hardware one.

Bricked After a Software Update

A wave of A51 owners have reported the phone bricking after installing a system update — booting no further than the logo, or not booting at all. Samsung does not use standard fastboot flashing like most Android brands, so the DIY fixes people find online for other phones simply do not apply here and can make things worse. Recovering it means a proper Odin-based firmware reflash with the correct drivers and files for this exact model, not a generic guide.
