No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Samsung A90 5G Known Issues

USB-C port that keeps connecting and disconnecting by itself

So, this is the one to know about. One A90 5G owner started getting a “USB connector connected” notification, then “disconnected”, then “connected” again, round and round, with nothing plugged into the phone. They did a factory reset and it carried on. At the same time, the Samsung earphones that came in the box, which plug into the same USB-C port, stopped working. It all started a few days after a system update, so it looked like a software bug. It wasn’t. The phone went in for service and came back with the USB port flex replaced. The owner said the port had failed after about two months of careful use. Another owner in the same thread had no trouble with theirs, so this isn’t every unit.

**Repair note:** in that case the fix was a new USB-C port flex. If your A90 5G shows phantom connect/disconnect messages, or USB-C earphones and cables suddenly stop being recognised, check the port first.

Samsung A90 5G Specifications

The Samsung A90 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen (1080 x 2400) under Gorilla Glass 6. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

On the back is a 48MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide, and the selfie camera is 32MP. The battery is 4500mAh and sealed in, with 25W wired charging through USB-C. It’s Gorilla Glass 6 front and back on an aluminium frame, the fingerprint reader is an optical one under the screen, and there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. The UK model is the SM-A908B.
