If We Come To You

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Samsung A72 Known Issues

Touchscreen stops responding after sitting idle

Leave an A72 locked in a pocket for a while, and there’s a decent chance the touchscreen simply stops responding when you go to unlock it. Only a hard reboot brings it back, and it behaves normally again until the next time it happens — and it does keep happening; this is one of the most reported hardware complaints for the A72 in the material we reviewed. A long-running support thread traced the fault back to the display’s main flex cable, with several owners reporting it fixed after a replacement — though a few said the fault came back regardless, which points at a connector rather than the display itself in some cases. So, it’s worth a proper flex and connector check before writing the whole board off.

Random restarts settling into a full boot loop

Several A72 owners have reported the phone restarting on its own, with some cases settling into a genuine boot loop that a factory reset or a full firmware reflash won’t touch — enough independent reports in one thread alone to call it a genuine pattern rather than one unlucky unit. The diagnosis in that thread lands on hardware — RAM or a cracked solder joint on the motherboard — and one owner’s temporary workaround was literally warming the back of the phone, a classic symptom of a dry solder joint rather than anything software-related. Because the RAM’s soldered directly to the board on this model, a genuine fix means board-level rework, not a straightforward part swap, so it’s not a quick job.

Stuck on “Phone is starting” after a restart

Only one detailed case turned up in the material for this one, so treat it as less common than the two above, but it’s a distinctive enough symptom to flag: an A72 restarted normally, then hung indefinitely on the “Phone is starting” screen — still stuck there two days on. Troubleshooting in the thread pointed at a firmware fault, with a full reflash suggested as the fix, though the owner struggled to track down matching firmware for their exact regional variant on their own. But that’s exactly the kind of job a proper repair shop can usually sort with the right tools and firmware access — it’s a software-level fault rather than a sign the board’s failing, so it’s worth ruling out before assuming the worst.
