If We Come To You

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Samsung A36 5G Known Issues

Heavy standby battery drain on a near-stock handset

So, the one complaint that actually has detail behind it on the A36 is standby drain. The report that stands up came from a three-week-old handset being used as a work phone — almost no apps installed, bloatware already stripped out, dark mode on, energy saving on — and it was still losing a noticeable chunk of charge while sitting there doing nothing at all. Another owner on the same thread ran the numbers and put the drain at somewhere around 0.6% an hour with the phone asleep, and pointed out that most manufacturers would happily call that figure normal. But on a phone with nothing installed on it, that’s a lot of charge going nowhere. The first thing worth ruling out is a wakelock — an app or a system service holding the processor awake in the background instead of letting it drop into a proper sleep. That’s a software symptom, not a worn-out cell, so it’s worth checking before anyone assumes the battery itself is the problem.

Samsung A36 5G Specifications

The Samsung A36 5G (UK model SM-A366B) has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen at 120Hz, running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with 6GB, 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. There’s no memory card slot.

The rear cameras are a 50MP main with optical stabilisation, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro, with a 12MP selfie camera. The battery is 5000mAh with 45W wired charging. It has Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back on a plastic frame, IP67 water resistance and an optical under-screen fingerprint reader.

It looks almost identical to the A56, but the A56 runs Samsung’s own Exynos chip and has an aluminium frame, so check the model number (SM-A366 or SM-A566) before ordering parts.
