If We Come To You

We know you are busy, so we offer a service where we come to you. We will arrive in a Red DrFixit Van at your home or work or wherever you want. Our vans are fully fitted with all the necessary tools to get your device working in no time. Did I mention our call out charge starts from only £15 to come to you? I am sure you agree… that level of convenience makes perfect sense. To find out more, please visit our page If We Come To You.

No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Google Pixel 6 Pro Known Issues

Mobile signal drops out & doesn’t come back on its own

The Pixel 6 Pro loses mobile service mid-use & often stays that way until the owner steps in. In a dedicated XDA thread, owners describe “no service”, an exclamation mark on the signal icon, three drops on a single train commute, & losing all data & calls at least twice a day away from Wi-Fi while the phone still shows a 4G or 5G connection. Switching aeroplane mode on & off, or disabling & re-enabling the SIM, brings it back. Owners running two lines get it worse. Turning off 4G on the second SIM, or leaving the eSIM on an older network, steadied the main line, though one of those owners then found the eSIM dropping calls instead. Nobody pinned down the cause. Owners on EE & Vodafone both reported it. One EE owner saw it clear after a system update but couldn’t rule out the network. Another only got rid of it when the handset itself was replaced.

An extra rounded corner appears on the screen

Some Pixel 6 Pro displays grow a second quarter-circle cutout in the top-right corner, one owner’s after almost 3 years of use. Owners in the XDA thread agree it’s cosmetic, since the screen & touch keep working around it. A replacement screen doesn’t guarantee it’s gone for good. One owner had a new screen fitted in December 2022, & the replacement showed the same defect by late 2023. A second owner had the corner for a few months, then saw a green tint appear in low light & on the always-on display.

Heavy battery drain & heat under light use

Pixel 6 Pro owners report the battery running down & the phone running hot on basic tasks, not just games. One owner left the house around midday on 100%, with the screen already turned down to 1080p & 60Hz to save power, & got home at 8:30pm on 10%. Another singled out video calls as the worst for heat. The thread started with a phone only 3 months old, so the battery hadn’t worn out. Three owners said a custom kernel (a replacement for the core of Android’s software) fixed their battery life, which points at software, not a worn battery. Check the battery’s health before paying for a new one, because on this model a fresh battery may not change the drain.
