In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

Samsung S22 5G Known Issues

Battery life that runs out before the day does

Here we have the most common complaint about the base Galaxy S22, and it is not a fault in one bad unit. It is the size of the battery. The S22 fits a 3,700mAh cell into a compact body, and owners of both chip versions report the same result: roughly three to four and a half hours of screen-on time with ordinary, mixed use. The best figure from an owner of the Exynos version (the chip in UK phones) was about 4.5 hours. That was a good day. Outdoors at higher brightness, it was well under. So why do a few owners report far more? Continuous light use, like watching video, is kind to the battery. Stop-start use, app switching and running on mobile data are not. Owners who worked through every settings tweak still landed in the same range. I have to be 100% upfront here: a new battery gets an S22 back to where it started. It does not turn it into a big-battery phone.

A glass back that looks like plastic

The base S21 had a plastic back. The S22 went back to glass, and it looks and feels almost the same, so it is easy to mistake for plastic. What does that mean for repair? Glass can crack when it is pried. Getting inside means heating the panel to soften the adhesive, then working it free with plastic picks, and there is a lot more adhesive packed around the camera area than anywhere else on the back. A panel that is already cracked is harder again, because it does not come away in one piece. The screws inside are standard Phillips, no security screws, so the back panel is the hard part of getting in.

Samsung S22 5G Specifications

The Samsung S22 5G has a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen at 120Hz. UK and European phones run Samsung’s Exynos 2200, while most other markets got Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Every version has 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and no memory card slot.

The rear cameras are a 50MP main and a 10MP 3x telephoto, both with optical stabilisation, plus a 12MP ultra-wide, and there’s a 10MP selfie camera. The battery is 3700mAh, with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. It’s Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back on an aluminium frame, rated IP68, with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the screen.
