No Fix No Fee?

We would love to be able to fix every device and would love to be able to give you your device back working as it should be. Some devices are just beyond repair or need to be taken to a Micro-Soldering Specialist. Our expertise has taken years to acquire, so we charge £20 for any device which we are not able to repair. This by no means covers our costs, as we sometimes spend in excess of an hour or two working through different options to get your device working again. In the event that you have called us out to your location, we will only charge you the call out fee plus £10. If we are unable to repair your device, we may still be able to help get your device fixed and may even be able to get your data recovered. We have teamed up with a specialist “Micro-Soldering Board Level Repair Company” here in Bristol specifically to ensure we get your device fixed in almost all cases.

12 Month Warranty

We will not use cheap parts and will certainly not do a botch job either. You can rely on us. If you have any problems after the repair has been completed, just give us a call.

Samsung Z Fold3 Known Issues

The factory inner screen protector lifts at the crease

Every Fold3 leaves the factory with a thin plastic film over the folding screen. In the owner threads we looked at, it’s the part people complain about most. So, the story goes like this: a few months to a year in, the film starts lifting or bubbling along the fold, sometimes with a worrying crackle as you open the phone. The “hairline cracks” people spot down the middle are often in the film, not the display. Run a fingernail across them and it catches. But it doesn’t happen to every unit. Plenty of owners report the original film still intact after a year.

Air and grit under the film can kill the inner display

This is the one worth taking seriously. Once the film lifts, air and dust get in right on the fold line, where the screen bends every time you open it. Several owners describe the same pattern: a bubble that grows, then a few dead pixels, then a thick black line down the crease with the right-hand half dead to touch. Half a tablet isn’t much of a tablet. The Fold3 is rated against water but not against dust. If your film has bubbled at the crease, get it seen to before the panel underneath pays for it.

The inner screen can crack along the fold without a drop

Some owners find fine cracks in the display itself along the crease, with no knock to blame. Often it shows up just after the first year. One owner who had peeled off a bubbling film was finding new cracks every few days. A few posters suspect that unfolding it in sub-zero cold makes things worse, though that’s owner theory, not a confirmed cause. The folding panel is also an expensive, fiddly part to replace, so it’s no quick swap.

A bump and a click at the crease

Within the first few weeks, some owners notice the crease getting deeper. Some also find a raised spot about a third of the way up that clicks when pressed, as if that bit of the panel isn’t stuck down. One owner passes on that support called this normal: part of the panel is deliberately left unbonded where the hinge’s internal brushes sit. Normal or not, it’s unsettling on a phone this expensive.

Short battery life, and it runs warm unfolded

The 4,400mAh battery has to power two 120Hz screens. Reviewers found it gets through a working day and not much more. It also gets noticeably warm on the big inner screen.
